Something about this image caught my fancy, and I respond here with Pas de Deux:
Pas de Deux for High Wire
Grey days Magda walks her crow along the wires,
their lightning rod umbrellas raised against rain,
each in sleek black dress. Crow hasn’t found
right-size red shoes, tiptoes bare-clawed
holding black string, the thing that
keeps them grounded mid-air.
It’s an odd tableau: Woman and Crow, a soggy circus
in sky and air, a curious three-step on the wire:
Shuffle, stop, hop, shuffle, stop, hop—
‘til rain stops the show.
One, two three—
And step off the wire.

This is so charming I love the bit about the crow not having the right-sized shoes and having to “tiptoe bare-clawed” Thank you for the reblog as well!
Thank you. And the reblog: you are quite welcome!
Wonderfully imagistic, and perfect for this artwork Carol…I love the lightning rod umbrellas
It was a fun image to work with, although I admit took more fine tuning than I had expected!
Great take on the image Carol. I also liked the crow tip toeing not finding the right shoes. I loved how you injected the circus image so cleverly too. Well done.
Thanks for the visit and the comments! Much appreciated.
