Meetings
when the address is wrong and
each one arrives and leaves in puzzlement.
Hurries down the pavement, wondering
where the others are, is this another sign
of the distraction of the times?
Days Like This
when the inbox overflows although
last night you swore today
would be different. Today
you’d read poems, make soup,
never hit the send button.
Dreams and Waking
Morning comes before I’m ready
the dream still fading, an almost memory,
all love and promise, a thing that
never was nor might have been, but perfect
for the first minute before waking.

the day crisp blue above
the bright white of roofs spied from
my window, where I’m caught
in a sea of dull white paper

Sunday Breakfast at the Greek Resto
a grey day with light snow
calls for two eggs sunnyside up
the only yellow orb on the horizon for today
alongside crisp bacon, homefries, short stack
and the sweet slow slide of syrup
a plate of tummy-filling yum!
