We will explore the importance of imagery and sensuality in poetry. We will discuss and creatively express the value of investing one’s poetry with concrete images that command the attention of not only the reader’s mind, but their entire body.

 Brandon Wint is a writer of local and national renown.

  Kate Cayley is a poet, novelists and playwright, author of When This World Comes to an End (Brick Books, 2013). Her poetry and short stories have appeared in literary magazines across the country. Her play, After Akhmatova, was produced by Tarragon Theatre, where she is a playwright-in-residence, and a young adult novel, The Hangman in the Mirror, was published by Annick Press in 2011. She is also the artistic director of Stranger Theatre, and has written, directed and co-created eight plays with the company. She lives in Toronto with her partner and their two children. When This World Comes to an End is her first book of poems.

  Paul Vermeersch is the author of four poetry collections including The Reinvention of the Human Hand, published by McClelland & Stewart in 2010.

Paul holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of Guelph, for which he was awarded the Governor General’s Gold Medal. Of his four collections of poetry, the most recent, The Reinvention of the Human Hand (McClelland & Stewart, 2010), was a finalist for the Trillium Book Award. He lives in Toronto, teaches at Sheridan College, and is the senior editor of Wolsak & Wynn Publishers Ltd.
