10616147_719512231476757_4644385450363778813_nSAWDUST READING SERIES PRESENTS:

Sawdust is proud to host JC Bouchard as he facilitates our second Sawmill workshop: Poetry After Writing: What Do We Do Now?

Wednesday, July 20 at 5 PM – 6:45 PM, Pour Boy – 495 Somerset St W Ottawa

In this workshop, we’ll mainly explore the life of our poetry after it’s written—revision, omission, publication and the surprises in between. We’ll break down the processes of both writing poetry and sharing it with the world in its final form, and the various stages of poetic composition from start to finish. Do we keep our poetry as is or critically edit? Do we discard the poems that do not work or can they be improved? Do we publish our poetry and where? Finally, how will we perform our work to an audience, if at all? Participants are asked to bring in a recently composed poem (or poems) to discuss these topics and more. The cost of the workshop is $10 to be collected at the door. For $25, get the Sawmill package which includes the cost of the workshop plus any meal and drink off the regular Pour Boy menu, including tax and tip. Can’t wait to see you there!
